Book Speak No Evil: A Midlands Crime Thriller (Detective Sebastian Clifford - Book 2) Review :

Rigby has a knack for writing police procedurals that are thought provoking as well as entertaining. She weaves a story with vibrant characters and current cultural issues. Before you know it, you can't wait for the next installment! This particular story--the 2nd Seb and Birdie, Speak No Evil may well be my favorite to date. Rigby is worth reading. Read this book. Read all her books!
This 2nd book in the Sebastian Clifford series is a must buy. I've been both an elementary school teacher and a Children's Services Social Worker. This book with Lacey, an abandoned child deeply touched my heart. Birdie's Aunt Catherine is fostering her and although Lacey rarely speaks more than a few words, she's never talked about her past. With Birdie downtown, Lacey has obviously seen something that set her back, giving her a terrible shock. The case is closed so Birdie approaches Clifford about his investigating the case pro Bono with her helping when she can. You are in for one incredible ride reading this book. There are twists, turns, dangerous situations, and an incredible ending. It's a stand alone book, but a continuation of a previous thread that dates back to the original series before Clifford Sebastian came along, is also there.Sally Ride knows how to write suspenseful, exciting books to read that keep you hoping the next book comes along really soon. I highly recommend you read all of her books. You will be reading some well written, incredibly good suspenseful, exciting thriller mysteries. I can't get enough of her books. She's definitely one of my favorite authors.I received an ARC and this has been my honest review.
